Flower City Filmmakers Residency
Film Residency
The Flower City Filmmakers Residency aims to provide guidance and support to emerging filmmakers in the development of their short-form project from concept to completion. Flower City Film is committed to nurturing local talent and fostering creative growth, and this residency offers filmmakers the opportunity to receive mentorship through online workshops, group discussions, and targeted guidance.
Phase One of the residency will be open to up to eight participants, selected by the Flower City Film artistic team based on submitted film projects and career profiles. During this phase, participants will present their film concepts and receive feedback from a panel of experienced industry professionals, who will then select three projects to move forward to Phase Two.
Phase Two consists of a four-month mentorship program combining online sessions with in-person workshops hosted in Brampton. This phase will focus on story development, script refinement, production planning, and guided support through filming and post-production, helping participants bring their short film from concept to a polished, screen-ready project.
Through this residency, Flower City Film seeks to empower emerging filmmakers, strengthen the local screen ecosystem, and help new voices bring their films to life.
